About Solaris Community Capital


Solaris Community Capital provides innovative advisory and consulting services specializing in New Markets Tax Credits, Historic Tax Credits, Investment Tax Credits (Renewable Energy), and State Tax Credits for urban and rural communities nationwide.


For over 15 years, Solaris Community Capital Principals have supported more than 150 nonprofit and for-profit projects alongside tax credit investors, leveraging tax credits to enable meaningful project development. Specific services include underwriting, structuring, asset management, fund management, origination and deal management, and obtaining NMTC allocation. Solaris Community Capital has represented more than $1.5 billion in transaction volume.


Our clients include nonprofits, government and municipal agencies, investors, banking institutions and developers/owners. We facilitate the building, renovating, expanding, and/or purchasing of equipment for both real estate and operating projects and businesses nationwide.


We take a personal and comprehensive approach in our advisory role taking the time to get to know our clients, the unique attributes of their project, and focusing on unlocking both the qualitative and measurable benefits of each individual venture within its local community.

Joel B. Superfon

MANAGING DIRECTOR AND PRINCIPAL


Joel is the Managing Director and Principal of Solaris Community Capital. Following 10 years of tax credit related investment, structuring and sourcing at a specialty finance consultancy and 7 years of financial, real estate, legal, and strategic development at financial institutions and several publicly traded companies, he founded Solaris Community Capital to focus on economic development consulting for high impact community projects. Joel has led and closed transaction volume in excess of $1.5 billion in connection with structured business and real estate financings utilizing benefits from New Markets Tax Credits, Historic Tax Credits, Renewable Energy Tax Credits, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and multiple state tax credit programs.


Joel earned a JD/MBA from the University of Denver and a BS in Business Entrepreneurship with a Minor in Economics from the University of Southern California and is a member of the Arizona State Bar.



Alice Fawver

ASSOCIATE


Alice has over 12 years of experience in Non-Profit Finance and Community Development, working to promote better healthcare, community and social services, and job creation for low-income and special needs individuals. At Solaris Community Capital, Alice focuses on the New Markets Tax Credit practice, where she has successfully marketed and closed transactions across numerous asset classes. Prior to joining Solaris, Alice worked in senior management roles for Fortune 100 companies, leading consumer research efforts across the globe.



Liliana Cota

EXECUTIVE SUPPORT


Liliana provides administrative support to Solaris Community Capital and has been an important part of the team for more than three years and has excelled in an executive support role across the legal, finance and non-profit industries.
